BLAUPUNKT TORONTO SQR 48 PROBLEM

Dera friends, sorry for no speak french,im a carradio collector of blaupunkt and becker, i live in madrid spain and i want to give you thanks for this web .
I buyed a blaupunkt toronto sqr 48 with one problem only, when i tune radio stations (for example ) you can read in lcd 100.0 but the real frcuency is 101.0 , it has one number less in display , anybody knows how i can correc it ? where i can touch it?

Sorry, I've never seen such a problem !
What is wrong, the display or the station not  on the good frequency ?
Are you sure it's not a USA version ? The frequencies are not on the same place with the search system

Dear Sam, my unit is european model ,all works fine in tune except numbers in display.. when you looking for a station, radio finds perfectly all stations but number in display is one less, is easy ,one important station here in madrid is 89.0 is M80 RADIO ,my display shows 88.0 this is the problem ,how i can correct it ? i have a friend here that has shop manual for this radio but we dont find the solution for this problem, i have a others torontos and bremens inclusive i have a usa model Washinton sqr 47 and this radio shows in display like others 89.0 ,except toronto sqr 48, what i do? this is the question, i do this question here to think that any body can help me, thanks for your interest

I understand very well your problem !
With a PLL tuner, it's the same frequency that is used to tune the receiver and to drive the display !! So, I do'nt know what is the solution. I don't understand my self, it's not logic !
The original shop manual from Blaupunkt explains the schematics on the first pages. Perhaps, you will have a idea to find the solution.

Hello Dudule, how are you?, My toronto was sent for oficial service Blaupunkt in Portugal, spend money on shipping for nothing, because the reply was that they had no repair parts for having sent even before the problems had the radio, I cant understud ???? well i do not get to do but I want to tell you something, the FM radio has that problem but at least one less tune in AM there isnt this problem, the fault will PL06 tuner? in that case I can replace the PL06 toronto sqr 48 for the PL06 of toronto 46? I have a radio toronto sqr 46 for parts and PL06 is good
Other thing I buyed a toronto sqr 46 porsche in very good condition radio when i arrived to me works perfect but i dismounted the top cover for to clean cassette and clean the diode ,watch condition of belts, clean volume and tones the things that i do when i buy a radio , I change one of the station search buttons and change gums cassette knobs (small internal round),but made ​​a mistake, not to tighten the belt well to PL73 ,i turn on the radio and radio turn on but one second after radio turns off alone and no more turn on , what happend ?? i dont know ,dont switch noting ????Dudule, will be v2050 or v2060, or you thing that i have that look other thing? sorry this talk, but I have no one to share it, greetings

Blaupunkt doesn’t assume repair for old autoradios. Also in a lot of countries !
AM tuner is mounted vertically. It seems simple but vertical mounting connections are often offset from one another.

Be carefull about 2 mm and 1 mm both sides !
 
If the AM tuner is really defective, the exchange would be possible. Toronto 48 SQR is a facelift model SQR46

For the complete breakdown of your radio after your surgery, you must check the 8.5V as described on the site.
This problem is a known failure with Toronto and Bremen


Check V2050, V2060 and D2050

Thanks for your help Dudule i will check ,v2050,2060 and d2050 in sqr 46 ,I have always been guided by the help of this wonderful web , but around sqr 48 I think I expressed bad ,the fail is in FM not in AM ,FM has the diference between display numbers and real tune in AM numbers and tune is the same , i speak about change FM tuner in sqr 48 for Fm tuner sqr 46 ,is the same tuner? or I m wrong and pl06 isnt FM tuner?Thanks for your help

Here is the FM tuner PL06. You have to check U8 and U81 comming from V2050 and 2060.
 


Perhaps, it's the same tuner in Toronto SQR48 but I'm not sure ?!
Please don't touch to the 3 adjustable potentiometers R174, R169 and R180. If done, you will have several malfunctions !

It's not possible to have some diagnostic about your radio like this !
Lots of causes of failures are possible.
Have you the schematic and have you good knowledge in electronics ?
If you are more specific, maybe I can help you
